Female urban gospel musician, Micco has released another masterpiece called “Yewo” in which she features Afro R ‘n’ B gospel artist, Shammah Vocals. Shammah Vocals is the “No Reverse” and “AYesu Amakukhala” hit maker.

’Yewo’ was released on 7th June 2018 and was premiered on different radio stations including TWR Malawi on the programme Spiritunez and was uploaded for downloads on www.spiritunez.net. The song which can be accessed on the link www.spiritunez.net/micco-feat-shammah-vocalz-yewo/ has received overwhelming response among those who love gospel Afro-R‘n’B beats.

Micco reveals that she approached Shammah about the song, and that the idea was that they should perform it at Daeyang University in Lilongwe where there was a show organized by Psalm Formation Movement.  The artists were both headliners to this event.

About the response of the song, Micco says that it is all by the grace of God. She emphasizes that she did not expect that people would love the song that much.

“There has been a positive response from different people. Basically ‘Yewo’ is a thanksgiving song. It is just about giving thanks to God for his goodness and love and kindness. I composed the song together with Shammah. We both contributed some ideas on how the song should be”, narrates the Blantyre based artist.

Micco is a very talented up-and-coming urban gospel artist who has no album to her name but has seven singles which have seen her being named Best Female RnB artist of the year for the Spiritunez Online Awards 2017.

The 21 year old artist whose real name is Mayamiko Zingani is a third year Bachelor of Arts Media for Development Studies and Communication student at the University of Malawi’s Chancellor College. She recalls starting music from a choir.

“I started singing in a choir when I was 10 years old and when I got to form 1 I was introduced to this other music group called Exodus 20 by a friend named Frazier Chirwa. I joined Exodus 20 music group in whose first single was recorded in 2012”, says Micco.

She decided to go solo in 2015 when she released “Mutamandike” which was followed by “Nyale” whose music video enjoyed a lot of airplay on various local television stations. Other songs that she had to her name include, “I Need You”, “Kumwamba”, “Strictly For Girls” which she featured Mic Mash, “Abwera”

Micco says she is working on her first album which will be released by the end of this year (2018) if not early next year. The album is an acoustic one. Micco promises a bomb to her fans.

The talented Micco who is born again recognises that there is talent in both secular and gospel music but for her she believes that in gospel music one is not just driven by talent. She calls gospel music a ministry on its own and that it is all for the glory of God.IMG-20180608-WA0000
